I am HIRAMATSU Masaaki, an astronomer at Chile Observatory, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ). My research field is star formation, and I use radio telescopes to investigate how stars and planets are formed.

I am also responsible for the Education and Public Outreach of the Chile Observatory (ALMA) and other radio astronomy projects in NAOJ.

Effective December 1st, 2014, I am an interim Chief Public Information Officer at NAOJ Public Relations Center.
